The Faculty of Law of TDTU welcomed and worked with the National University of Laos

On the morning of September 15, 2026, at room A101, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Faculty of Law organised a welcoming and working session with the delegation of the National University of Laos (National University of Laos - NUOL). The program focusses on evaluating the results of implementing the cooperation contents signed by the two sides from 2024, and at the same time exchanging coordination orientations in the period 2026–2029.

On the side of Lao National University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ounla Sivanpheng - Vice President leads the delegation; together with Assit. Dr. Somdeth Keovongsack – Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science; Dr. Boualaphiane Sisouk - Deputy Head of International Relations Department and teachers are heads of departments of Lao National University.

Receiving the delegation, on the side of Ton Duc Thang University there is Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Vice President, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Director of the Institute of International Cooperation, Research and Training; Mr. Chau Bao Anh - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law and a large number of lecturers and students.

At the beginning of the program, the delegates watched the video introducing an overview of Ton Duc Thang University and the Faculty of Law. This activity helps the NUOL delegation better understand the training environment, facilities, development orientation and typical academic activities of the University and Faculty of Law.

Speaking to welcome the delegation, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice President, Dean of the Faculty of Law of TDTU, expressed his appreciation for the visit and work of the representative of Lao National University. The visit is an opportunity for the two sides to review the cooperation process, identify the contents that can continue to be promoted and discuss activities suitable for the development needs of each unit in the coming time.

In response to the welcome, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ounla Sivanpheng, Vice President NUOL shared their opinions on the cooperation between the two universities, and at the same time expressed their interest in strengthening connections in training, scientific research and academic exchange.

At the working session, MSc. Phan Thi Hong An, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of TDTU, presented a preliminary report on the implementation of cooperation contents between the two sides since the signing of cooperation documents in 2024. The report provides a basis for representatives of the two schools to exchange, evaluate the implementation progress and discuss the possibilities of coordination in the next period.

During the discussion session, representatives of TDTU and NUOL focussed on discussing areas with potential for cooperation in the period 2026–2029, including training, scientific research, exchange of lecturers and students, and other academic activities. The contents mentioned are aimed at expanding the international learning environment, enhancing professional exchanges and creating more conditions for lecturers and students of the two universities to access diverse academic experiences.

After the exchange session, representatives of the two sides performed the ceremony of giving gifts and taking souvenir photos. The NUOL delegation continued to visit the TDTU campus, including lecture halls, gymnasiums, Vietnam - Finland International School, academic buildings, libraries and traditional rooms. The tour helps the members of the delegation have a more intuitive view of the conditions of training, research and academic activities at TDTU.

The reception and working session contributed to maintaining the cooperation between Ton Duc Thang University and Lao National University, and at the same time opened up the prospect of implementing more practical training, research and academic exchange programs in the period of 2026–2030. This is also the basis for students of the two schools to have more opportunities to exchange, learn and develop their capacity in an increasingly internationalised educational environment.
